The Story

The Classic English Breakfast, Reimagined

Rediscover the familiar comfort of your morning brew in a thoughtfully elevated form. Crafted from high grown Ceylon teas sourced from Sri Lanka’s celebrated Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya regions, this teabag blend brings the clarity, structure and gentle briskness of premium orthodox tea into an effortless everyday format. Expect a bright copper infusion, warm toasted caramel notes and a smooth, full bodied finish. This is English Breakfast tea with quiet refinement.

These handy teabags offer the same quality and depth as our loose leaf tea, with the added convenience of a format ideal for travel, busy mornings, the office or enjoying a great cup wherever you are.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright, brilliant copper liquor with a deep amber infusion
Aroma: Warm, lightly toasted and elegantly malty with soft caramel notes
Flavour: Full-bodied, polished notes of malt, warm toasted caramel, a richly astringent mouthfeel
Finish: Clean, comforting and structured with lingering caramel tones
With Milk: Creamy, rounded and familiar
Black: More aromatic, nuanced and brisk

Ingredients

100 percent Pure High Grown Ceylon Black Tea

Our Triune Teabags are plastic free, fully compostable and packed in recyclable cardboard, offering a sustainable choice without compromising quality.

How to Brew

You can discover our in depth black tea brewing guide to learn how to brew the perfect cup of tea. Use these quick steps to brew the perfect cup:

  • 1–2 teaspoons (2-3g) per cup
  • 200ml of fresh filtered boiled water (100°C)
  • Steep 3–5 minutes
  • Enjoy black or with milk

For a teapot, use 1-2 teaspoons per person, 600ml to 1l depending on teapot size, plus one extra teaspoon for the pot. (2 to 3g per person, with an additional 2g for the pot to ensure balance.)

For a stronger cup, use a little more tea and brew for a minute longer. For a lighter cup, simply reduce the leaf and shorten the steeping time. Feel free to experiment to find the balance that makes your perfect cup.

Why Choose This Tea

  • Premium Sri Lankan provenance from Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya
  • High grown Ceylon leaves for clarity, brightness and depth
  • Small batch blended for consistency
  • Teabag convenience with loose leaf calibre flavour
  • Perfect for breakfast, focus and refined everyday drinking

Production and Leaf Grades

This blend uses carefully selected BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) and FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) leaf grades. These leaves undergo the full orthodox process of withering, rolling, controlled oxidation and drying. This traditional method develops the tea’s rich aroma, warm caramel notes and distinctive copper hue that characterises premium Ceylon teas.

Wellbeing and Potential Benefits

As a classic black tea, English Breakfast offers a natural source of polyphenol antioxidants. Many tea drinkers enjoy it as a gentler alternative to coffee since it provides a balanced caffeine lift, steady focus and soothing flavour as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Origin and Craftsmanship

This distinguished blend is sourced from high altitude Sri Lankan gardens reaching up to 1,868 metres in Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya. The cool, misty climate places gentle stress on the tea plants, intensifying aroma and flavour.

Every batch is selected for balance and harmony, then blended with care. The leaves unfurl beautifully during steeping, releasing layered aromatics that stand far above standard supermarket English Breakfast teabags.
